Author Guidelines
Instructions for Article Submission to the Journal of International Law and International Relations
- Manuscript Submission
- Articles must be original and unpublished, and should not be under consideration for publication elsewhere.
- Manuscripts may be written in Spanish or English.
- Manuscript Format: (The different formats of the journal will be explained below)
- File Format: Manuscripts must be submitted as a Word document.
- Font and Size: Use Times New Roman font, size 12, with double spacing.
- Margins: Set margins according to APA 7th Edition style.
- Pagination: All pages must be consecutively numbered, using APA 7th Edition style.
- Tables and Figures: Tables and figures should be numbered sequentially and include descriptive titles. These should be placed at the end of the document or integrated into the text with the desired location clearly indicated. Always use APA 7th Edition style.
- Citations and References: References must follow APA 7th Edition style and be listed alphabetically at the end of the article.
- Manuscript Structure
- Title: The title should be clear and concise.
- Authors: Include the full names of all authors, affiliations, email addresses, and clearly indicate the lead author.
- Abstract: Include a 250-word abstract summarizing the study's objectives, methodology, results, and conclusions.
- Keywords: Include 3 to 5 keywords.
- Introduction: Should include the context of the study and the research objectives.
- Methodology: Detail the methods used to conduct the research.
- Results: Present the obtained results.
- Discussion: Analyze the results in relation to previous studies.
- Conclusion: Summarize the key findings of the study and their relevance.
- Acknowledgments: (Optional) Include any acknowledgments to individuals or institutions that contributed to the work.
- References: Cite all sources used in the study, following the required citation style.
- Peer Review Process:
All manuscripts will undergo a peer review process. Authors will receive feedback and suggestions from reviewers and must make the necessary revisions within 4 weeks.
- Manuscript Submission:
Manuscripts must be submitted electronically via email: revistarrii@usil.edu.pe before the submission deadline.
Ensure all files are correctly attached and that contact information is accurate.

Article Formats in the Journal of International Law and International Relations
Letters to the Editor
Description: Comments or critiques on articles published in the journal.
Common Structure:
- Title
- Authors and Affiliations
- Body: Comment or critique.
- References (optional)
Research Articles
Description: Present original scientific research results.
Common Structure:
- Title: Clear summary of the article's content.
- Authors and Affiliations: List of authors and their institutions.
- Abstract: Brief summary of the study, including objectives, methods, results, and conclusions.
- Introduction: Context and objective of the research.
- Literature Review: Research background and theoretical bases.
- Methodology: Detailed description of how the study was conducted.
- Results: Presentation of the study's findings.
- Discussion: Interpretation of the results and their relevance in the literature, and conclusions and recommendations.
- References: List of sources cited in the article.
Review Articles
Description: Summarize and analyze existing research on a particular topic.
Common Structure:
- Title
- Authors and Affiliations
- Abstract
- Introduction
- Main Body: Organized into thematic sections, discussing relevant studies and findings.
- Conclusions
- References
Obituaries
Description: An article written to commemorate and honor the life and contributions of a deceased individual. These obituaries are typically written by colleagues, students, or people who knew the deceased and have a good understanding of their career and impact in their field of study. The main purpose is to highlight the individual’s major academic and scientific contributions, as well as to offer a brief summary of their personal and professional life.
Section Lengths in the Journal
The sections mentioned must follow the style guidelines of the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th Edition and should be prepared in a WORD document, always written in double space.
Letters to the Editor should be no longer than 1,000 words, excluding references, and these should be limited to a maximum of 5-10 references.
Research Articles should be no longer than 5,000 words, excluding the abstract and references.
Review Articles should be no longer than 5,000 words, excluding the abstract and references.
Obituaries can range between 500 and 1,000 words.
