About the Journal

HISTORY

Purposes and Representations, a magazine edited by the San Ignacio de Loyola University - USIL (Lima, Peru), published its first printed issue in 2013, under the direction of the Vice-Rector for Research.

In 2015 it began to publish in digital format, through its web platform developed in the Open Journal System (OJS); In 2019, the periodicity changes: from semiannual to quarterly.

In April 2021, he assumed his editorial direction, the Psychology Programme, at that time part of the Faculty of Humanities. And since January 2022, forming the USIL Faculty of Health Sciences.

From 2024, it changes from quarterly to continuous publication, with the aim of ensuring immediacy for the dissemination of scientific information, increasing the visibility of research and providing greater efficiency in the flow of editorial processes.

FOCUS AND SCOPE

Academic journal focused on deepening publications on Educational Psychology topics, promoting scientific discussion from a perspective that favors the diversity of topics, disciplinary-theoretical approaches, and methodological proposals around the psychology of learning, teaching strategies, educational research, psychology of learning. development, behavioral psychology and learning in virtual environments.

MISSION

To become a plural forum for the dissemination of knowledge produced from research among academics, researchers, teachers and university students and the general public regarding Educational Psychology, at a national and international level.

PERIODICITY

Continuous publication (1 volume per year); this periodicity refers to publishing the articles as they complete the editorial process.

SECTIONS

The journal accepts for publication manuscripts of the following types: Research articles (qualitative or quantitative studies), Review articles, Research notes and Reviews.

Purposes and Representations, does not make any charge for the sending, processing, evaluation and publication (Article Processing Charge - APC) of the manuscripts.

Bilingual journal, publishes its articles in Spanish and English.

CODE OF ETHICS

As an international journal of excellence, it is aligned with the standards provided by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) aimed at editors, reviewers and authors.

ANTIPLAGIARISM TOOL

To detect the percentage of originality and authenticity of the manuscripts received and published, the journal uses the Turnitin computer program, which are analyzed before being sent to peer referees, as part of the first editorial filter and prior to online publication.
